









Just a few of the many sports trading cards I designed for Upper Deck as Lead Designer/Art Director for the NBA and NFL brands before moving over to the Entertainment side. The obvious challenge in designing trading cards is the small format... almost like designing a postage stamp. The way I chose to approach it was to design the card front like a mini-poster... as simple and dynamic as possible with only the essential elements. The card back on the other hand, I tried to treat almost like an editorial page design, combining imagery and typography in a way that communicated as much information as possible to card collectors and sports fans, hopefully in an interesting and entertaining way.
